We arrived back about 11:30 and settled down for the night. About 6 the next morning we awoke to an eerie silence in a pitch black room. I opened the curtains to find EVERYTHING dark. The wind was blowing fiercely and it had apparently caused the power failure. I headed down to the lobby and found out the whole city was without power, including the casino which was still open but running on emergency generators. I went back to my room and my husband and I got dressed and cleaned up as best as possible and headed back downstairs.
I must say, they have beautiful stairwells at this site. The manager had just arrived back to the hotel with huge containers of coffee for all the guests. The breakfast bar was open, lit with flashlights and had sweetrolls, bread, peanut butter, jelly, cereal, and milk. The staff did an amazing job of meeting the needs of the guests despite the unusual circumstances. I have stay there many times before and would not hesitate to stay again. It is clean, convenient, and reasonable and has a GREAT staff on top of it all.
